Last week our 2015 Artist Workshops started with investigating a NZ artist, Timo Rannali http://timodesign.nz
We noticed that his artworks all had a curve in them, and many had characters (such as seagulls or people) in them somewhere.
After exploring his art and thinking about what makes Rolleston special, we headed out with iPads in hand to photograph the 'cityscape' of Rolleston. We really liked the characters in Timo's work, so while exploring we took photos of the local horses, dogs, doves and even some seagulls!
After morning play we started sketching, starting with a curve to 'hang' the rest of our composition off. In the afternoon we transferred our We are looking forward to painting next week!
