Opportunities @ Clearview
At Clearview Primary we are challenged every day to be creative, to think outside the square and even to go into the 'pit of learning'. We know that being challenged means that we are learning new things, and we love to feel successful in our learning!
Within our collaborative teaching setting, students have many opportunities to manage their own learning. Across the school, students will be able to be supported, self managed and self directed and may switch between these at different times of the day.
SRL stands for Self Regulated Learning. Self regulation by our students has become more a part of what we do at Clearview as our students and staff experiment with 'Power Teaching'. Our students are becoming much more aware of what it means to be able to use the Clearview Competency: Managing Self when thinking about the way in which they best learn in and around the learning settings available at Clearview.
As part of our extension programmes, students have extra opportunities to be part of tasks and challenges to extend their thinking and their abilities in their areas of passion. It is important that these children are supported in learning to become self managed learners who are able to make great decisions about where they work, who they work with and what the best way is for them to share their learning.
